Privacy Policy

The short version
- Your voice recordings never leave your iPhone. They are turned into text on your device, then deleted. We never receive them.
- The text does leave your device, so an AI can write your draft. That is how the app works.
- We do not train AI models on your content, and nor does our AI provider.
- We show no advertising, and we never track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Our website uses Google Analytics to count visitors, and only if you agree to it when we ask.
- We never sell your personal data.
- Your data is stored in the EEA (Ireland).
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app.

Your voice recordings
When you record a voice note, the audio is saved temporarily on your device and turned into text using Apple’s on-device speech recognition. The audio never leaves your iPhone, and it is deleted as soon as transcription finishes — whether it succeeded or failed.
We never receive, store, or have any access to your recordings.
The resulting text does leave your device. It is sent to our AI provider to generate your draft. Please don’t dictate anything you wouldn’t want processed by a third-party AI service — other people’s confidential information, passwords, health or financial details.

We do not collect your location, contacts, health data, advertising identifiers, or any data used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
We do not read your photo library. We only ever receive the single image you choose to attach to a post — picked through Apple’s own photo picker, which shows us nothing else — or a photo you take in the app for that purpose.
We may measure how the app itself is used — which features people reach, where they get stuck — to improve it. That never involves your recordings and is never shared for advertising.
We do not hold your social platform passwords or access tokens, and we never see your payment details.
AI and your content
We do not use your content to train, fine-tune or improve any general-purpose AI model, and we do not license or sell it to anyone who does.
Our AI provider is Anthropic. Their commercial terms prohibit them from training models on data sent through their API, and they delete API inputs and outputs within 30 days (longer only where content is flagged for a policy violation).
The writing samples you provide shape the output for your account only. No other user is affected by, or exposed to, them.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the providers needed to run RecaptioAI. Each acts as a processor on our instructions. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims. Where we’re permitted to tell you, we will.
Transfers outside the UK/EEA.Where we send data to Anthropic in the United States, the transfer is made under the Standard Contractual Clauses incorporated into their data processing addendum. Our publishing provider, Outstand, is established in Sweden, within the EEA; where its own infrastructure providers process data outside the EEA, its published privacy policy states that it relies on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. Where you have consented to Google Analytics, your data is collected by Google Ireland Limited in the EEA; any onward transfer to Google LLC in the United States is made under the Standard Contractual Clauses in Google’s own data processing terms, and Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Apple and our subscription provider keep their own records of your purchases, under their own privacy policies and retention periods. We don’t hold your payment details at any point.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app at any time. Deletion is immediate and disconnects your connected social accounts.
Cancelling your subscription is separate. Apple manages subscriptions, not us — cancel through your Apple subscription settings, or you’ll keep being billed after your account is gone.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where we rely on it.
Email hello@realityuni.com and we’ll respond within one month. There’s no charge, and we won’t treat you differently for asking.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office( ico.org.uk), or to your local data protection authority if you’re in the EEA.
Security
We encrypt data in transit, restrict database access so you can only ever reach your own records, and keep API keys on our servers rather than in the app. We also don’t collect your audio at all, which removes an entire category of risk.
No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to risk your rights, we’ll notify the ICO within 72 hours and tell you directly where the risk is high.
Children
RecaptioAI is not intended for anyone under 16, and you may not create an account unless you are 16 or older. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we’ll delete it.
Cookies
The app doesn’t use cookies or any advertising or cross-site tracking technology.
Our website uses Google Analytics, but only if you agree to it. When you first visit, we ask. If you choose Accept, Google Analytics sets two cookies (_ga and _ga_5HJSVWKL8S) that last up to two years and let us count visitors and see which channels bring people to us. If you choose Reject, we don’t load it at all and those cookies are never set. We remember your answer in your browser’s local storage so we don’t have to keep asking — that’s strictly necessary to honour your choice, so it applies either way.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in our website footer. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent: choosing Reject turns Google Analytics off and deletes the cookies it set.
Connecting a social account opens a secure window operated by that platform, which may set cookies under their policy.
Changes
We may update this policy. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice in the app or by email.
